This innovative pilot programprovides direct cash investments and other resources to Southern Dallas families to prevent evictions and therefore prevent students from having to change schools. The Targeted Eviction Prevention Program, or TEPP, is the first direct-cash program of its kind in North Texas
In alignment with our Homeless Prevention and Intervention Initiative—which provides a continuum of services to address the complex income-related challenges that often result in homelessness—TEPP positively impacts housing and education for families in Southern Dallas.
TEPP provides unrestricted cash investments of $250 every month and access to various resources, such as legal assistance, to hundreds of families, with a goal of preventing evictions. By keeping families in their homes, the program aims to prevent mid-year student moves and encourage stability and continuity in children’s education.
