Volunteering with United Way is a great way to create positive change that we can all be proud of in our community. Helping others and making a difference for those in need is why I volunteer, and I’m proud to do my part.

Being able to give back to my community is about staying connected to the people, the friends, the family that I adore, and really just uplifting the people who haven’t had the same luxuries as I have during the pandemic.

It’s been about 22 years since I started volunteering with United Way. It’s extremely rewarding. And I feel it’s important to volunteer and to donate through United Way because they touch multiple communities.

I love volunteering with young kids, just because they have so much energy, and I’m very passionate about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics). Dallas has a lot of low-income communities and Latino communities, which is where I came from, and getting that visibility to kids is so important.
