Established in 1999, the United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas provides a permanent source of funding, separate from our annual campaign initiatives, to support the programs and activities of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.

The United Way Foundation enables donors to invest in the long-term future of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, which ensures our organization has the funding required to create opportunity for North Texans to thrive for generations to come.

The United Way Endowment

The United Way Foundation is funded by the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Endowment, which was founded in 1994 with a generous gift from TXU Energy and is managed by a separate 501c3.

This permanent funding benefits United Way of Metropolitan Dallas by enabling our organization to:

  • Withstand annual economic fluctuations that can impact funding cycles
  • Grow our ability to invest in strategic partnerships and creative advancements outside of the standard grants process
  • Offer the flexibility needed to fund new and emerging solutions for the challenges of the future

The Unite Forever Endowment Campaign

The first endowment campaign in the history of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas garnered incredible support and raised $105 million to fund our community impact work in perpetuity.
