Emerging Developer Program
In partnership with the City of Dallas, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas is working to create a capacity building program to expand the number of developers of affordable housing in Dallas.
This work supports our homelessness prevention efforts by increasing the number of cost-effective rental units in our region, which in turn will improve housing stability for more of our neighbors.

While the program is still in the planning stages, the effort is designed to have three tiers of programming:
Tier 1: Provides customized training, focused on the basics of forming and operating a nonprofit, to newly formed nonprofit or minority/women-owned organizations interested in developing affordable housing
Tier 2: For more established organizations seeking technical assistance in affordable housing development and classroom experience/certification around housing development.
Tier 3: Provides technical assistance to established organizations that have a project in the works and are seeking support when running into issues during the development process
