New Year Message from Michelle Horton

January 17, 2024

Happy New Year Mighty, Mighty Women of Tocqueville!!

I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to a new year of great work in the community! I enjoyed seeing many of you at our WOT Joy! event hosted by Neiman Marcus in December. The funds you donated are being used to provide baby necessities to new and expectant mothers at our Virtual Baby Shower this spring.

I am so grateful for the remarkable community impact that the Women of Tocqueville have had in 2023 across the building blocks of education, income, and health. As we embark on a new year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the collective efforts of this group and express my heartfelt appreciation for each and every one of you. Whether participating in the Restaurant Week Lunch with the North Texas Food Bank, the Nexus Recovery Center Tour, the Dwell with Dignity Thrift Studio Event, the WOT Fund Incubator Orientation, or the various Tocqueville Luncheons, your commitment and engagement have real impact on the lives of those in need across our North Texas community.

As we embark on 2024, I am looking forward to the many upcoming opportunities we have to engage and make a difference together. Later this month (January 25th), we have the WOT2Eat/Drink Connections event at Jasper’s Richardson, which is a great way to meet and connect with your fellow WOT members. In February, I encourage you to join the Advocacy for Greater Community Impact Webinar to learn more about how you can advocate to drive impact across the areas of education, income, and health. With 2024 being a critical election year, your support is needed to shape policy change. In March, we have the United Way Reading Day presented by EY, the Dallas Children’s Theater Play, and the WOT Fund Incubator Debut Night – Cohort 3. April brings a flurry of activity with WOT DINE!, our Virtual Steering Committee Meeting, and our Virtual Baby Shower, and in May we have The Pitch, as well as the WOT Fund Incubator Alumni and WOT Networking Event.

I am truly excited about the year ahead and the opportunities it holds for us to make a difference. Together, we will continue to empower, inspire, and uplift our community. Together we SHINE! … With Servant Hearts We Inspire Our Neighbors To Engage In Our Community.

Wishing you all a year filled with joy, success, and meaningful connections!
