Celanese

Celanese has closely partnered with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas as the company works to improve life for South Dallas residents. Their community initiatives include back-to-school festivals, direct grants, fundraising campaigns and unique volunteer events.

Celanese also made an early investment in Grow South Grow Strong, a United Way program that provided vital education resources to students and families in South Dallas while engaging the community and corporations through targeted programs and events. The successful initiative—which has since been combined with our Southern Dallas Thrives program to further support our work in the southern sector—sought to capitalize on the community’s biggest opportunities and address its most significant challenges. In its final year of programming, Grow South Grow Strong equipped more than 1,500 students with resources to improve their attendance, develop literacy skills and succeed in school.

Celanese has also partnered with United Way for the annual Celanese Foundation golf tournament, during which Celanese has raised funds to support Southern Dallas Thrives, which advances outcomes for pre-K-12 students, increases food access and creates career pathways for women.

In 2024, Celanese generously invested $1 million in our community impact work, which will drive measurable change in education, income and health and help us fuel our second century of impact.
