Volunteer with Us
Volunteering is a powerful way to invest your time and talents to shape the future of our community. We make it easy to find virtual and in-person volunteer opportunities to improve education, income and health in North Texas.
United Way Reading Day
Join us March 6 for United Way Reading Day presented by Atmos Energy, as we inspire thousands of North Texas children with a love of reading! Education is one of the building blocks of opportunity, empowering kids from grade school to college, to their career and beyond. And reading is the core of most learning. Together, we can spark an interest in reading and build up the skills that students need to succeed—like reading at grade level.
Stay in the Know
As we launch into our second century of impact, we’ll host a variety of hands-on volunteer experiences throughout the year that make a meaningful impact in our community. Join us as we change lives through programs focused on STEM education and career exposure, early literacy, physical and mental health, food access and more. Complete our volunteer interest form to receive updates on how to get involved.
Making a Meaningful Impact
Watch volunteers share their experience connecting with local students during United Way events like Reading Day and STEM Fest.

“Volunteering with United Way is a great way to create positive change that we can all be proud of in our community. Helping others and making a difference for those in need is why I volunteer, and I’m proud to do my part.”
Laporchia
“Being able to give back to my community is about staying connected to the people, the friends, the family that I adore, and really just uplifting the people who haven’t had the same luxuries as I have during the pandemic.”
Kelly Ann
“It’s been about 22 years since I started volunteering with United Way. It’s extremely rewarding. And I feel it’s important to volunteer and to donate through United Way because they touch multiple communities.”
Benjamin
“I love volunteering with young kids, just because they have so much energy, and I’m very passionate about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics). Dallas has a lot of low-income communities and Latino communities, which is where I came from, and getting that visibility to kids is so important.”
