Celebrating Impact, Igniting Innovation, and Empowering Our Future
Welcome back everyone from the summer season. It is with great excitement that – in honor of United Way’s milestone anniversary – we share the privilege of being Tri-Chairs this year for Women of Tocqueville! You will recognize our names as we have each Chaired Women of Tocqueville the last three years: Michelle Thomas (Chair 21-22); Mandy Austin (22-23) and Michelle Horton (23-24). Together and UNITED we will join as your Women of Tocqueville 2024-2025 Tri-Chairs.
Last month, our exceptional WOT Steering Committee, 25 committed philanthropic leaders from across North Texas, met to outline the goals for the year. We are all aligned to give, advocate and volunteer, with each of you as we celebrate United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ Centennial Year. Together, with more than 500 mighty, mighty WOT we will center our efforts around three pivotal initiatives: Celebrating Impact, Igniting Innovation, and Empowering Our Future.
The Women of Tocqueville mission is to advance United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ efforts to create equitable access and opportunities, ensuring that every neighbor can thrive. We envision North Texas as an exceptional place to live, work, and raise a family. However, we are acutely aware that not all community members have equal access to the resources essential for our collective success. It is imperative for our dynamic WOT community to remain actively engaged with our neighbors to create access and opportunity so all North Texans can thrive.
WOT will Celebrate Impact by spearheading initiatives that align with United Way’s Aspire United 2030 objectives and by advancing our mission through dedicated philanthropy, advocacy, and volunteerism. Igniting Innovation will focus on nurturing fresh ideas and bold solutions to propel United Way into its second century of impactful service to the North Texas community. Finally, Empowering Our Future will emphasize leveraging the collective strength of our members to support one another and champion emerging social entrepreneurs. These initiatives will help WOT foster meaningful change and sustain our commitment to excellence and community empowerment.
We hope each of you will join us this year – whether it is through volunteer events, networking opportunities, advocacy visits or family engagements. 100 years of impact – a milestone anniversary that is a celebration of United Way’s past equal to the promise of the future. Join us! Invite a friend! Now is a great time to re-connect and we hope to see you throughout the 2024-2025 year. We especially invite everyone to please save the date for the Centennial Celebration on November 15, 2025.
Through our united efforts in volunteerism, advocacy, and fundraising, we will harness the diverse perspectives and expertise of WOT members to reach our goals. We are confident that, as always, we will not only attain significant success but also find joy in the journey.
