United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas

Ensure a more predictable, sustainable, and stable future for our mission in North Texas.

Advocacy / Public Policy Support

Mobilizing the community together to advocate for positive changes to public policies at the local, state or federal level.

Social Innovation

United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’s Social Innovation Accelerator in collaboration with Accenture is a mentor-driven social innovation fund and impact accelerator program that invests seed funding and resources to support innovators with social ventures focused on solutions that address challenges facing education, financial stability, and health.

Pathways to Economic Mobility

Helps to move low-income families out of poverty permanently by helping them save money, reduce debt, improve credit, and connect to safe, affordable financial products and services.

North Texas Summer and Supper Council

United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and Baylor University’s Texas Hunger Initiative launched the North Texas Summer and Supper Council to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of ensuring healthy summer and supper meals for every child, while increasing the awareness and access to provider site locations.

Grow South Grow Strong

Supports students and families in the Dallas ISD Roosevelt High School Feeder Pattern by engaging the community and corporations through targeted programs, workshops, and events. These efforts capitalize on the community’s biggest opportunities and address the community’s biggest challenges.

Future Focus Camp

Serves Dallas area high school students by guiding them through job readiness content and introducing them to varying work environments and professionals from a diverse group of industries here in North Texas.

Southern Dallas Thrives

Southern Dallas Thrives is a joint effort between PepsiCo and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas that will invest funds to provide vital programming in the areas of kindergarten readiness, workforce development, food access, and college/career readiness, specifically for Southern Dallas communities.

Healthy Cities

Baylor Scott & White Health Care and the City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department developed the Healthy Cities Initiative to overcome long-standing challenges of health care access and education within some of the most vulnerable, high-need communities in Dallas.

Healthy Zone Schools

Healthy Zone Schools gives schools resources to engage teachers, students, parents, and the broader community in a joint effort to create a culture of health for students.

Preventing Homelessness

Supports programming that prevents homelessness, such as emergency shelter, affordable housing, and other interventions, and provides support to those currently experiencing homelessness.

Once Upon a Month

Once Upon a Month is a monthly book program in which children ages 0-5 can have a developmentally impactful book delivered to their home every month for an entire year at no cost to the family.

Pathways to Work

Pathways to Work works in partnership with employers, training providers and funders to move entry level workers up career pathways by equipping them with job training so they can access good paying jobs in the health care and IT industry.

Dollars for College

Dollars for College is a children’s savings account for college program that expands access to an affordable, long-term savings product for low- and moderate-income families, working in partnership with local school districts.
