Impact of the Dallas Rental Assistance Collaborative

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas led an unprecedented, community-wide effort to prevent an eviction crisis.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating effect on North Texans—especially those without a financial safety net. As our region faced a potential eviction crisis, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas sought ways to support our neighbors so they could stay in their homes.

Through the Dallas Rental Assistance Collaborative, or DRAC, United Way and our partners supported local families with more than $30 million in rent and utility assistance, providing thousands of North Texas with much-needed housing stability during a health and financial crisis.

Learn more about the impact of DRAC, and hear from some of the tenants who benefitted from the initiative, in our booklet, “A Community-Wide Success Story.”
