Holiday Greetings Women of Tocqueville All-Stars:
Let me extend my personal gratitude and appreciation to each of you – our mighty, mighty Women of Tocqueville – with my very best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season. I know the demands you’ve experienced in the face of the ongoing pandemic – professional obligations, broader societal instability and caring for the needs of others – have been significant this year. Even with that backdrop, for the first half of the UW fiscal year you continued to shine as compassionate leaders to impact our North Texas community in many ways.  Thank you!

Led by the brilliant initiatives of our WOT Steering Committee, we have secured partnerships with the LiftFund and Comerica for the WOT Fund for Women and Children to provide critical assistance for deserving women and children now and in perpetuity. We have hosted several connections events, delivered the State of the Regional Economy, and volunteered with Agape Resource & Assistance Center to paint townhomes for women, moms and their children facing situational homelessness.  As we round out December, I hope you’ll plan to join us at WOT Joy! to celebrate in-person with a holiday shopping experience hosted again by Neiman Marcus NorthPark on December 16th. Donations for attending this event will go towards our upcoming virtual baby shower for expecting mothers in need.

The fun will continue as we jump into 2022 with some of our signature WOT events like the Advocacy Luncheon in January, Most Generous/Next Generation and Bench & Bar in the Spring, and volunteer events like Reading Day and the Career Day/Fair.  We’ll come together for more connections events and have other opportunities to learn, engage and continue to have an impact in our community.  I’m so very proud to see how each of you, our brave All-Star luminaries, have connected to shine brightly and unite around our 2021-2022 theme WOT a mighty constellation…when all stars align!

During the holidays, let’s take the time to slow down and decompress. Find the opportunity to do something that is tailored to your mental well-being, protects your peace, and helps restore some perspective and resilience. There has never been a more important time to be deliberate about taking care of ourselves, our loved ones, our community and neighbors, and those around us in need. We know that the brightest stars are those who shine for the benefit of others!

Do good, be well and choose joy!
