Message From Claudia Morrow, 2019-2020 Women of Tocqueville Chair

On behalf of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, thank you for being a member of the Women of Tocqueville Society – an inclusive network of women leaders aligned to give, advocate and volunteer in support of the community through United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.

I am honored to serve as the 2019-2020 Chair of Women of Tocqueville. I am energized and inspired by each of you and ready to take on this year, building upon the great work of the extraordinary leadership of the Women of Tocqueville over the past 10+ years. Together, we will increase the impact of our membership through volunteer engagement and sharing the gifts of our experience, empathy, and time to empower the women and children in our community living in poverty. I am encouraged by the words of Melinda Gates, American philanthropist, who said “If you are successful, it is because somewhere, sometime, someone gave you a life or an idea that started you in the right direction. Remember also that you are indebted to life until you help some less fortunate person, just as you were helped”.

As a member of Women of Tocqueville, you will receive this monthly e-newsletter highlighting upcoming activities, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas impact updates, and other communications relevant to your membership. I hope you will continue your incredible commitment to United Way and support of your community by engaging in volunteer opportunities and attending events you will find in the newsletter. Our next event is the Most Generous Next Generation professional development workshop presented by PwC on Tuesday, September 24. We will have the opportunity to hear from the Cynthia Marshall, the CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, and mentor female members of the other leadership giving societies.

You are part of the most generous, passionate, and determined team of change-makers. Together we are putting opportunity in the hands of 1 million North Texans. Thank you for the lasting change you make possible—we are most grateful. THANK YOU!

Claudia Morrow
