29% of Roosevelt High School students met STAAR post-secondary readiness standards.

The Grow South Grow Strong Program serves 1,700 students and their families within three targeted schools in Dallas ISD’s Roosevelt Feeder Pattern. The initiative aims to support students and families and engage the community and corporations through targeted programs, workshops and events in an effort to capitalize on the community’s biggest opportunities and address the community’s biggest challenges.

Results & Impact

Since (time period needed):

  • 1,900 students received programming to increase attendance, improve literacy, and develop the skills to succeed in school.
  • 4 community partners delivered programming on the identified campuses
  • The three campuses we work with in GSGS (Mills ES, OW Holmes MS and Roosevelt HS) have a combined student body of roughly 1,700 students.
  • “Two large-scale community events focusing on literacy and STEM serve over 500 students”
  • 50 parents participated in campus-based engagements and programs
