Future Focus Camp
Update May 13, 2020:
For the continued safety of both students and staff, we are developing a virtual experience for North Texas high school students: Future Focus Online. This new virtual platform will host the same college and career readiness content as the in-person camp, via recorded videos and activities. Future Focus Online will launch July 6th and will remain accessible to students until school starts in the fall – providing students the opportunity to participate at their own pace. The link to register for this opportunity is coming soon!
Future Focus Online helps North Texas students better understand their long-term career options by connecting them with corporate volunteers, provides career exposure opportunities and connects learned skills to future possibilities.
During the online camp experience, students are guided through job readiness content, learn from guest speakers, engage in various activities and build important real-world skills that all job industries value. While the contents of Future Focus Online will be available throughout the summer, we will have a two week period, from July 6 – July 17, in which students will have the opportunity to interact live with peers and facilitators via Zoom video calls.
Throughout the 2-week timeframe, students will engage in content and activities provided by corporate partners and their employees. Students will receive knowledge about the vast array of available jobs in various industries and discover the real-world importance of skills they are developing. Alongside their peers and facilitators, students will have the opportunity to breakdown all that they have learned and engage in stimulating conversations throughout both weeks.
