The Luminary Awards Honor Four Exemplary Women in Business Charged with Elevating Women in Business and Transforming Their Respective Industries

DALLAS, TX – On October 19, C200 recognized four leading businesswomen at the Luminary Award Luncheon during the 2018 Annual C200 Conference in Dallas, TX. Each recipient is credited with achieving C200’s mission – to support and empower women in business, and has had a profound impact in their respective fields.
“The Luminary Awards are a way for C200 to honor extraordinary businesswomen – like Ann, Dr. Kadri, Kate and Jennifer – who continue to transform business across categories,” said Pamela Craig, Chair of The C200 Foundation and Former CFO of Accenture. “This year’s recipients do not disappoint. Each woman has had a major impact in her industry and sphere of influence, whether through entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, education and skills training or the promotion of women’s achievement in STEM fields.”
C200 is an, invitation-only, global organization composed of more than 500 of the world’s most successful female entrepreneurs and corporate leaders. The organization’s mission is to foster, celebrate and advance women’s leadership in business through programs like the Luminary Awards, the C200 Protégé Program (for entrepreneurial women), C-Ahead (for rising corporate stars) and C200 Reachouts (for undergraduate and graduate-level students).
This year’s Luminary Award Recipients include:
- Skills to Succeed Champion, presented by Accenture: Jennifer Sampson, McDermott-Templeton President and CEO of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas
Sampson is committed to helping people master the skills needed to get a job or build a business. The organization has set a 10-year community goal to prepare at least 60-percent of all high school graduates to succeed in college and careers by giving children a strong start in life, providing mentorship and out of school time programming and preparing students for what comes after high school. United Way works to move people out of poverty through skills training and credentials that lead to better paying jobs.
- Entrepreneurial Champion: C200 member, Ann Drake, Chairman and CEO of DSC Logistics
Drake has guided DSC to become one of the leading supply chain management firms in the US by creating a business model based on integrated, comprehensive supply chain solutions built on collaborative partnerships, innovative thinking and high-performance operations.
She receives this award for her creation of an innovative new product and service. Drake is a member of the Kellogg School Global Advisory Board at Northwestern University, serves on the Board of Governors for Chicago’s Metropolitan Planning Council and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry.
- Corporate Innovator: C200 member, Kate Gutmann, Chief Sales and Solutions Officer for UPS
Responsible for global sales, solutions and customer-engagement strategies, Gutmann is recognized for enhancing corporate strategy and impacting the value of the business significantly. Under her direction, UPS sales and solutions professionals are focused on deepening customer relationships by providing high-impact and value-rich solutions, enabling customers to better compete in the global marketplace. Gutmann also has management responsibility for UPS Capital, a subsidiary that provides supply chain financial, insurance and payment solutions; and The UPS Store, the nation’s largest franchise system of retail shipping, postal, print and business service centers.
- STEM Innovator: Dr. Ilham Kadri, President and CEO of Diversey, Inc.
Dr. Kadri is honored for being a leader in the technology space and exemplifying unique vision and success in her work. Dr. Kadri is recognized for her commitment to mentoring young women and promoting female leadership. She had served as Vice President of Sealed Air Corporation and President of its Diversey Care division prior to Diversey’s spin-off in 2017. Dr. Kadri is committed to mentoring young women and promoting female leadership. She serves as a board member for numerous organizations, including “The ISSA Hygieia Network™” as Founder and Chairwoman; she is an advisory board member of Catalyst in the USA and an advisory board member of Leading Executives Advancing Diversity (LEAD) in Europe for the Retail sector.
