Hilti North America is committed to investing in the North Texas community, specifically through initiatives that ensure people can live independent, self-determined lives.

Hilti’s partnership with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Women in Construction, provides participants with job training in construction-related areas while enabling them to earn relevant industry certifications and training. The program is an important component of the Southern Dallas Thrives initiative, a partnership with PepsiCo Foundation and Frito-Lay North America that provides critical services and support to the southern sector of Dallas.

We believe in the power and potential behind community partnerships in order to make the biggest possible impact. United Way is squarely and uniquely positioned to lead the effort to strengthen the workforce opportunities in this area.

Partnership Spotlight: Creating New Job Pathways

At Hilti North America, workforce development is an important organizational priority. The company places particular emphasis on building and maintaining a skilled workforce for the construction industry. In 2021, Hilti recognized an opportunity to get involved with our Southern Dallas Thrives initiative, which seeks to increase career pathways for women in high-growth industries.

We worked closely with Hilti to develop Women in Construction, which provides job training and certification in construction-related areas to ensure women in Southern Dallas, especially Black and Latinx women, have access better paying, middle-skill jobs while also developing a diverse pipeline of skilled workers. From the start, Women in Construction has proven effective at delivering strong job prospects for women. Following the first year of the program, 67% of participants found employment, and half of all participants were employed in construction.
