She had no computer skills, no confidence and no benefits left.
No wonder Evelyn was terrified.
Laid off from her job at 57, Evelyn was struggling. She lacked the technological know-how, workplace attire and interview skills needed to find a new position. Then she found Goodwill Industries, an organization funded in part by United Way. Their job connection program offers computer classes, dressing for success tips and mock interview sessions that help the unemployed ace their interviews. But more importantly, it helps them build the self-confidence to achieve success and long-term stability.
Evelyn ultimately landed a job with Petco and today is helping her granddaughter through college.
