"I’ve been in Dallas for 8 years and am compelled to invest my time and resources into organizations that improve everyone’s quality of life in the community." - Brad Wilson, Leadership Society member

Brad Wilson is a senior manager at Deloitte and a member of the Leadership Advisory Board.

Why is it important for you to give back to your community?
I believe it’s important to leave everything better than how you found it. I’ve been in Dallas for 8 years and am compelled to invest my time and resources into organizations that improve everyone’s quality of life in the community. I watched my father give a lot back to my hometown and I want that to be part of my legacy as well. The United Way’s mission fits my personal mission almost perfectly.

What is your dream for Dallas?
I’d love to see Dallas be recognized as one of the world’s great “smart” cities. This will require a lot of continued development in our urban core, increased investments in technology that benefits everyone, and continued growth in our city’s “creative” class. I believe these types of improvements raises the standard of living for everyone in the community.

What is your most memorable volunteer or impact moment with United Way?
Not sure if there is one moment that stands out more than others. I’ve actually enjoyed all of the time and resources invested while partnering with great leaders in the city and at Deloitte to raise awareness and funds for organizations that are meeting the most significant needs in Dallas. Whether it’s planning a campaign schedule, recruiting donors, or running a successful event, any investment I’ve made in the United Way has been personally rewarding and also a lot of fun.
