Dear Women of Tocqueville friends,
Thank you to everyone who attended our Women of Tocqueville 10th Anniversary Kickoff Reception at the Bivins Gallery last month! It was a wonderful opportunity to gather with friends before summer travels begin. At the event, Carol March and I made several announcements about our exciting Women of Tocqueville anniversary festivities this fall.
Our 10th Anniversary celebration will culminate on September 28 with a special evening at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. The gathering will include a cocktail hour, dinner and an after party following the program. (Don’t forget your dancing shoes!)
I am also excited to announce that the event will include the presentation of the J. Erik Jonsson Award to Lyda Hill. This is United Way’s highest volunteer honor. Lyda has supported United Way for many years and, in fact, she was instrumental in creating United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ process for evaluating and assessing community investments. Today Lyda is leading a new collaboration involving United Way and other non-profit leaders called Better Together. We are excited to honor and celebrate her!
Because this is such an important year for Women of Tocqueville, we really hope that ALL Tocqueville members – men AND women – will join us in the celebration. The special anniversary event is complimentary for all Tocqueville members in gratitude for your continued support of United Way.
If you have not done so already, please mark your calendar to join us on September 28. This will be an event not to be missed.
Wishing you a happy, healthy summer – and I look forward to seeing you all in September!
